GYROTONIC® Certification

One way to pursue your GYROTONIC® certification is as follows (visit the curriculum pages on the GYROTONIC® web site for detailed explanations of these and other options).

  • As of March 1, 2011, all potential teachers must have Progression 1 Material completed with a certified teacher.
    • Progression 1 is a sequence of exercises developed by creator Juliu Horvath and contains all of the basic principles of the system.
    • Progression 1 is comprised of six successive steps and it takes approximately 12 - 20 hours to complete these steps depending on the level of the student.
    • Fees for this are dependent upon the private or group rates of the teacher you work with.
  • Enroll in a Pre-Training Course with an Authorized Pre-Trainer.
    • A prerequisite of Pre-Training is successful completion of Progression 1.
    • Pre-Training is required in order to move on to the next step.
    • This course is 6 days long. Participants work 4 to 6 hours a day, 20 - 30 hours of training, depending upon how many people are in the course.
    • $850 base fee + Studio Fees.
  • Enroll in a Foundation Training Course with a Master Trainer.
    • Foundation work lasts for 12 days, 4 to 6 hours daily.
    • This course is not meant to introduce you to the work, instead, you learn how to be a teacher. Before entering this course, it is in your best interest as a student to already have a clear idea of what GYROTONIC® work is and be able to execute the work in your own body clearly.
    • Successfully complete this course and become a "Certified Apprentice."
    • $1,500 + Studio Fee
  • Complete 30 hours of practice teaching.
  • Enroll in the Apprentice Review Course with a Master Trainer.
    • 30 hours total. This course is usually 6 days long, 5 hours a day.
    • $700 + Studio Fee
    • This course can be split into two separate weekends. If that is the case, students only need 20 hours of teaching before the first weekend, 20 more hours of teaching before the second weekend, and 20 hours after the second weekend. Each weekend is $350 base fee.
  • Complete another 30 hours of practice teaching.
  • Enroll in the Certification Course in Miami Beach.
    • This course is 3 days long, working 4 - 6 hours a day.
    • $350 + Studio Fee
  • Post-certification, enroll in Update Courses with a Master Trainer every 2 years.
    • $350 + Studio Fees
