Lisa Lansing
Studio Owner and Director
GYROTONIC®
/ GYROKINESIS®
Master Trainer
Lisa Lansing is a Level 1 GYROTONIC®
and GYROKINESIS®
Certified Master Trainer and recently became a Master Trainer for
the GYROTONIC®
Leg Extension Unit.
Lisa works with cancer survivors, people with joint replacements,
people with scoliosis, leg length issues, and a variety of issues
which require special attention. Lisa also works with professional
dancers and athletes, mothers, people with osteoporosis and teenagers.
Lisa is known for her attention to detail and her ability to "see"
the energetic lines in the body. Lisa has been teaching movement
for most of her life and every day she learns something new from
one of her lovely, generous clients.
In 2009 - 2010, Lisa had the great opportunity to work with Shaquille
O'Neal while he was playing basketball with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He called Lisa, "Sensai," and tried to schedule every
open evening he had for private lessons in the GYROTONIC®
system that season.
Originally from Seattle, Lisa misses the Pacific Northwest, the
weather (it's not as bad as you think) and the people. Lisa believes
she is in Cleveland to provide greater healing and love to the community
through movement.
Christina Kohler
Certified GYROTONIC®
Pre-Trainer and GYROKINESIS®
Pre-Trainer
Chrissy Kohler first discovered GYROTONIC®
and GYROKINESIS®
techniques in 2005 through the recommendation of a dance instructor
and friend. She soon found she had greater strength, flexibility,
body awareness and coordination. Chrissy was inspired to learn more
and was soon on her path to teaching.
Chrissy now works with a wide range of clients, having witnessed
healing and transformation, pain reduction and prevention. Chrissy
strives to teach with clarity, sharing her sensitivity to each clients’
individual goals and needs and provides a calm space that facilitates
growth, change, and the freedom through movement that GYROTONIC®
exercise can provide. Currently a GYROTONIC®
and GYROKINESIS®
Pre-Trainer, she has also studied the Therapeutic Applications of
GYROTONIC®
and is certified on the Ladder, Jumping Stretching Board, and Leg
Extension Unit.
Her time spent working with Lisa Lansing and Inspiral Motion has
led and inspired her to a lifetime of ongoing education including
anatomy and movement, body work, nutrition, health, and energy work.
A former dancer and lifelong mover, Chrissy is also a Reiki Master
after several years of practice. A Cleveland native, she spends
her time with family and friends, including her entrepreneurial
husband, enjoying the arts, nature, and wonderful people that Cleveland
has to offer.
Sarah Shemory
Certified GYROTONIC®
Instructor and GYROKINESIS®
Apprentice
Sarah’s GYROTONIC®
journey began as a casual conversation with Lisa Lansing in the
fall of 2009 when she was working at the front desk of Inspiral
Motion/GYROTONIC®
Cleveland. On a thoughtful whim she decided to begin a career as
a GYROTONIC®
instructor. As a mover all of her life (a figure skater and soccer
player), this seemed like a perfect fit at the perfect time. She
immediately fell in love with the work, especially the way it has
improved her flexibility and body awareness. Sarah has completed
her Level 1 Certification as of November 2010 and is currently a
GYROKINESIS®
Apprentice.
Sarah hopes to bring fun, youthful energy to her clients and the
studio. Sarah’s time at Inspiral Motion has been extremely rewarding,
thanks especially to her amazing mentor and Master Trainer, Lisa
Lansing.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and
a Cleveland native. She loves spending time with her family and
friends, exploring Cleveland, reading cooking magazines and painting
her nails.
Karen
McDonald
Certified GYROTONIC®
Instructor & Certified Core Dynamics Pilates
Karen is currently pursuing her Level 1 Certification in GYROTONIC®,
and has been teaching Pilates at Inspiral Motion since its opening
in 2007. During that time, she had the unique opportunity and good
fortune to be able to observe Lisa Lansing teach GYROTONIC®
lessons, witness clients' enthusiastic responses to the method and
take lessons herself. A life-long athlete and mover, Karen believes
that mindful movement is fundamental to a healthy lifestyle and
finding balance in her daily life. After trying GYROTONIC®
lessons, she was captivated by her experience-- it felt like the
beginning of a journey, one in which she was discovering a new way
of moving that left her feeling open, refreshed and acutely aware
of the present moment.
Karen approaches each client as an individual, enjoying the fact
that each has varying needs on different days. She seeks to be observant,
thoughtful and creative in her work, and is excited about the ways
in which Pilates and GYROTONIC®
complement each other. She feels her training in GYROTONIC®
work has enabled her to view all of her clients through a new, more
dynamic lens.
Karen teaches private and group Pilates and GYROTONIC®
lessons and has worked with pre- and post-natal women. She is the
mother of two young children, and when not busy playing in the snow,
puddles or sun with them, might be found running, playing soccer
with the Cleveland Heights Moms' League or reading.
Miriam Salamon
Certified GYROTONIC®
Instructor
Miriam has always had a passion for various forms of movement and
physical exercise, In high school, she ran track and competed on
the swim team and devoted almost all her other free time to practicing
as a competetive baton twirler. Since Miriam chose not to continue
competing in any sports or activities in college, she filled that
void by teaching aerobics and taking yoga, belly dancing, and pilates
classes. She also developed a strong understanding of weight training
and it's benefits. After college, Miriam began taking pilates with
Lisa Lansing and fell in love with it immediately. While she already
earned her certification in personal training and aerobics instruction,
she felt that pilates was the missing piece in her fitness regimen
and really wanted to certify to teach it to others. While this aspiration
had to be put on hold when Miriam became pregnant with her first
child, she still continued to work with Lisa when she could and
started to learn more about the GYROTONIC®
exercise methodology after Lisa opened Inspiral Motion. Miriam loved
every class and was very excited to finally have the opportunity
to work towards a certification last year. She earned her final
certification in May and loves teaching at the studio. She feels
that the GYROTONIC®
System is the perfect way for her to help her clients protect and
strengthen their bodies in a perfectly balanced way. Miriam loves
watching clients' old injuries or imbalances begin to heal and enjoys
seeing a smile on everyone's face at the end of class.

Rosey Carnes
Certified GYROTONIC®
and GYROKINESIS®
Instructor
Rosemary
Carnes (Rosey) began training in classical ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical,
and acrobatics at age 9 in Coral Springs, Florida. Her focus narrowed
toward ballet, and from age 14 to 18 she attended prestigious summer
dance intensives including the School of American Ballet, Boston
Ballet, Harid Conservatory, and the SC Summer Dance Conservatory.
For the latter half of her high school years she attended the SC
Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities.
Rosemary spent her freshman year at Brigham Young University on
an academic scholarship. She performed with Theater Ballet Company
in the Paralympic Opening Ceremonies in the Olympic Stadium, at
various Olympic Venues, and on tour to Southern California.
Rosey was drawn to GYROTONIC®
exercise through the dance community at the University of South
Carolina (USC); her modern dance professor integrated GYROTONIC®
methodology into her warm-ups and used its movements for choreographic
inspiration. When she practiced GYROTONIC®
exercise in conjunction with her dance training she found that her
mind-body connectivity improved and her joints were stabilized.
Rosey began teaching in 2003 while pursuing her Bachelor of Arts
in Dance at USC. She continued to teach GYROTONIC®
while completing her Master of Fine Arts at the University of California,
Irvine (UCI). Rosemary chose to attend UCI after they offered her
a full tuition scholarship and teaching assistantship. She based
her thesis research on a study she conducted that looked at the
degree to which GYROTONIC®
affects the mobility and stability of the hip joint of advanced
ballet students. Rosemary completed her MFA in Dance Science and
her thesis was published.
Rosey thrives off of movement and finds the need to do something
athletically challenging on a daily basis. She rock climbs, snowboards,
trains for and participates in triathlons, and she practices yoga.
She has found that GYROTONIC®
is her foundation for all of the other activities that she enjoys.
Her regular practice has not only prevented countless injuries but
it has also given her the ability to rehabilitate herself from the
inevitable injuries that athletes suffer. Rosey has a passion for
teaching and thrives off of the progression her students make. She
relocated to Cleveland Heights, Ohio in December 2011 for her fiancée’s
job as a pilot with ExpressJet. She is excited to get nestled into
the close-knit community that she has found herself in here at GYROTONIC®
Cleveland.
